Japanese tatami mats have been made of rush grass for centuries.
This textile is known for its natural humidity regulating properties and its fresh grass-like scent.
Because it is a natural material, the rush gradually changes from a pale green to a soft gold color over time.
Instructions for care・・・ Do not use detergent to clean the tatami.
For best long term use, wipe down the mats once a month using a slightly damp cloth.
Wipe along the grain of the weave and dry it in a well-ventilated place, preferably on a sunny day.
